Guide To Services

Mission Statement
C’s Cleaning Services is a housecleaning service that provides professional cleaning to the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area.  Our mission is to provide affordable cleaning services to make our clients’ lives easier and less overwhelming.  We take care of the housework so that you can concentrate your energy on more important tasks!

Initial Contact
Prospective clients may either phone (816) 331-5502 or send an email inquiry to sparklingclean@kc.rr.com .  In return, a copy of the Guide to Services will be e-mailed as a Word document, or mailed in hard copy form through the postal service to an address that you specify.  After reading our literature, you are encouraged to phone or email with any questions or concerns that you may have.  If you choose to hire our services, you should then call or email to schedule an appointment for an in-home consultation.  Please note that most consultations are typically scheduled for either a weekday at 6 p.m. or weekends at your convenience.

The Consultation
Prospective clients and Christine Shuck, the owner and operator of C’s Cleaning Services, will meet at the client’s home for a consultation that generally lasts an average of thirty minutes.  During the consultation the following items will be discussed:

  • We will review your household needs as well as some of C’s Cleaning Services’ policies, service guide, payments, schedules, and any questions you might have.
  • We will go through your home room-by-room and discuss your unique cleaning needs.
  • Christine will give you details on how particular rooms are cleaned and what supplies and equipment are used when cleaning your residence.
  • Within 24 hours you will receive an email with your customized cleaning plan, along with possible day/date openings and the price for the services.

Please keep in mind that the consultation is a time for both parties to meet and share information regarding the servicing of the home.  Not all cleaner-client matches are appropriate; therefore we reserve the right to decline services.

Clientele

C’s Cleaning Services provides house, apartment and commercial cleaning services to residents of the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area.  Approximately 20 percent of our client base consists of one-person households in which the resident works away from home an average of twelve hours per day, or sixty hours per week.  Another 75 percent of our clients are families with multiple responsibilities: children, family activities, and involvement with community events.  The remaining 5 percent of our clients comprise our commercial accounts.

Our Services
Our visits are typically between one and four hours long, depending on the needs of your household.

C’s Cleaning Services will:

  • Give you a set time for your cleaning (if you will be present at time of service), with a one-hour variance to allow for traffic and road conditions.
  • Complete all services described in the home plan.
  • Provide for all of our own cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Dispose of chemicals in a utility sink or other sink that you designate.
  • Maintain client house keys and alarm codes in a safe, locked location at the residence of Christine Shuck, proprietor.
  • Use a particular product for cleaning if client requests it (client must supply product at their own cost)

C’s Cleaning Services will not:

  • Provide service to homes without adequate air-conditioning or heating, water service, or homes without electricity. Specifically, we cannot clean a house properly if there is no hot water.
  • Provide service to households with unsupervised pets (please gate or crate your pet).
  • Provide service to households during the times that the house is occupied by unsupervised children or teenagers.
  • Provide services other than housecleaning.
  • Operate your motor vehicle.
  • Throw circuit breakers or replace fuses.
  • Let in service people such as water meter readers, UPS drivers, and so forth.
  • Feed pets or clean up pet vomit or pet waste.
  • Iron clothing, perform outside work (including washing outside windows), make beds, wash your laundry or dishes, or prepare meals.

We also do not:

  • Access your phone or answering machine.
  • Exchange keys with anyone other than the contracted client.
  • Sell or share residential or email addresses, names, or telephone numbers with any other company or organization.

Hours of Operation
C’s Cleaning Services generally provides services between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Business hours for voice mail are between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and emails may be sent at any time.  When phoning or e-mailing reservations, always wait for a confirmation.  Our general response time is 24 hours.

Inclement Weather
C’s Cleaning Services will provide limited, delayed, or no service during incidents of inclement weather:

  • We will not provide mobile service during snow, sleet, ice, or other extreme weather conditions.
  • Limited or delayed service may occur in extreme thunderstorms, when there are power outages, dangerously hot or cold conditions, or during any declared weather emergency.
  • All visits during a period of inclement weather will be on an hourly advisory status depending on the driving conditions.
  • Please clear a path for our staff to safely enter your home on icy/snow days. CCS reserves the right to cancel service and assess a $23 missed appointment fee if we are unable to park in your driveway or access your home due to snow or ice buildup on your property.

Safety
C’s Cleaning Services asks that you inform trustworthy neighbors, neighborhood watch organizations, relatives, and so forth that a housecleaner will be on your property.  Doing so can save the police department, neighbors, and the housecleaner from an embarrassing situation.

Please notify C’s Cleaning Services in advance (a few days is ideal) of any person or people who may be in your home during the time of the housecleaning service.  This includes family members, service contractors, repair personnel, guests, et cetera.  C’s Cleaning Services reserves the right to reschedule visits that coincide with a visit by another service contractor or houseguest.

Reservations
To schedule an unplanned visit, or to re-schedule an already set appointment time, please phone or email your reservation by 8:00 P.M. the Friday before.  Please note that we do have a cell phone of (816) 616-9867 if you experience difficulties in contacting us through the main phone number.  Always wait for a confirmation via email or telephone.
We can sometimes accommodate unplanned requests if we have a cancellation.  However, we rarely do so with less than 24 hours notice.

Cancellations

  • Please phone or email (and wait for a confirmation) for all cancellations.
  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice (weekends and holidays included) are charged a late cancellation fee of $23.  The only exception is inclement weather or medical emergencies.
  • Excessive cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are subject to cessation of services.

Please be sure of all dates and times when you email or phone in your request.  Calling to cancel on the morning of a scheduled visit or two hours prior to the visit is inappropriate.  We understand that emergencies arise, and that you may need to occasionally cancel services with less than 48 hours notice.  However, please reserve such cancellations for emergencies only.

Payment Options

Payment is due at time of service.

  • You may leave a check or money order, or cash at your residence on the day of the service.  Please make all checks or money orders payable to C’s Cleaning Services or Christine Shuck.
  • Please do not post-date checks or money orders.
  • You may mail a check or money order.  Note that payments received after the due date may be subject to late fees of one dollar ($1) per day. You can mail your payment to C’s Cleaning Services, 16204 Hight Avenue, Belton, MO 64012.
  • At this time we do not process credit card payments.

If needed, C’s Cleaning Services will issue a receipt within 48 hours after the payment is received.  The receipt will be sent to you via email or left at your residence the next time you receive service.  In some cases, a receipt may be sent via the postal service to an address specified by the client.

Late Payments

Payments that are received beyond the due date listed on your billing statement may be subject to late fees of $1.00 a day (weekends and holidays included) until the account is brought up to date. In cases of frequent late payments, C’s Cleaning Services reserves the right to terminate services.
Additional fees may be imposed for returned checks and closed accounts.  In such cases, you will be charged $30 for each returned check and any additional bank fees that are charged to us, as well as daily late fees that accrue until the account is brought up to date.

Referrals

C’s Cleaning Services offers a discount of $10 for all completed referrals.
The following restrictions apply:

  • The new client must list your name as a referral;
  • The complimentary visit is automatically credited to your account after the first $150 of paid service from the new client.

This is our way of saying thanks to our wonderful, loyal clients!

Contracts

Our contracts are on an ‘at-will’ basis.  Either party, the client or C’s Cleaning Services, has the right to cancel service with at least one week’s notice.

Discounts & Specials

  • We offer a 10% discount for senior citizens ages 65 and older.
  • Other specials or discounts may be offered throughout the year.
  • Most specials and/or discounts cannot be combined.  Call us if you have questions regarding this.

General Information
C’s Cleaning Services is licensed as a service provider in the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area.  A copy of our business license is available upon request.  We are also bonded through Insco Dico Group.

Home Plan
A home plan is a step-by-step guide for cleaning your home.  We will review each room that you have requested to be cleaned, listing all required cleaning tasks for that room and which products will be used.  We will also include an estimated task time (ETT).  This will give all parties an idea of the total amount of time necessary to complete a housecleaning.
Estimated task times take into consideration:

  • Cleaning behind heavy objects or several small objects that may need to be moved.  An example might be removing a collection of glass jars from a tabletop, cleaning the jars as well as the tabletop, and returning the jars to the tabletop.
  • Thorough indoor window cleaning.
  • Any buildup of kitchen grease, pet hair, hard water and lime stains, or wax residue.
  • Intricate objects such as glass figurines or books that need to be removed cleaned and replaced.

Please understand that a thorough cleaning is a time-consuming process.  Extra time may be needed in homes that are receiving initial cleaning services.  We give added care and take precautions with furniture, collectibles, and other objects.

Once a consultation has been conducted, C’s Cleaning Services will draw up a personalized home plan based on your individual needs.  It will detail all services to be provided.  Once you have reviewed and signed this agreement, please be aware that only the services detailed in the home plan will be provided.  No additional tasks may be requested or assigned to a staff member of C’s Cleaning Services without an updated home plan.

If you wish to make a change to the home plan after it has been completed and signed, please alert Christine Shuck in writing, and allow two full weeks for a second draft to be drawn, reviewed, and signed, and for a copy to be provided to you.  Remember that making changes to a home plan means that the ETT will change.  This may decrease or increase the time allotment necessary for service provision.  We thus encourage you to carefully review your initial home plan before signing off on it.

After the home plan has been accepted, please do not ask us to perform tasks that are not part of the contract.  We will only provide services included on the home plan.
