I was eighteen years old when the nurse handed me my little girl for the first time. I looked at this tiny creature, still covered with blood and ick and asked, "What do I do with it?" It wasn't my finest hour, but I was exhausted from 31 hours of labor. I was an only child, with no experience around children, and I was terrified.
Would I be a good mother?
Would I be patient?
Would she love me forever?
A year later I attended a class that would transform my life. It started me on a path of learning and also one of teaching and sharing my knowledge with others. I read more books than I could list here, and began to teach that same class I had attended. As I taught the class I also began to make notes. There were changes I wanted to make to the curriculum, things I felt would add to the experience of the class, but I was restricted to the content dictated in the syllabus.
After a move halfway across the country, and many years later, I read even more books, added to my notes from years past and finally came up with a series of classes that I believe will transform how you parent. I guarantee that these classes will:
- Take away the frustration, the fights, the temper tantrums, and the disrespect.
- Renew your joy in parenting, create peace in your home, and help you to ENJOY your children!
My father once commented about parenting and said, "I wasn't raising a child, I was raising an adult." His point being that, long before we are ready, our children will leave us. And when they do leave, what are our answers to the following questions...
- Are they ready for that world out there?
- Will they make the right decisions?
- Will they believe in themselves and be responsible, trustworthy, thoughtful human beings?
- Will they be respectful of others and be productive members of society?
Families InDeed strives to answer those questions and more with "Yes!" and help to create exceptional families through leading by example and helping parents and children communicate in ways that encourage respect, love, and responsibility in all aspects of their lives.
