This shrubby perennial has clusters of pale blue, star-shaped flowers at the tops of leaf-covered stems in late spring to early summer. The leaves turn golden-yellow in the fall, giving it multi-season interest.

Amonia tabernaemontana is an easy-care, adaptable perennial that lives for many years. Native to the United States. Also called Woodland Blue Star or Willow Amsonia because of its narrow leaves. Hardy in zones 3-9.

Sowing Amsonia Seeds:
Place in a damp paper napkin inside a ziploc bag and refrigerate 6-8 weeks before sowing indoors. Or sow outdoors in a cold frame in late fall or winter.    Full sun to part shade.  At least 25 seeds per packet.
