Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What specific beliefs or strengths do you have to offer as a coach?

A: I had a difficult time whittling them down, there are so many! But the following are my areas of greatest strength:

Enthusiasm - I offer enthusiasm and a deep abiding belief in the abilities of every individual I share my time with. Excitement and a yearning for change and a willingness to grow is part of truly living instead of just existing.

Belief and Faith
- I believe in the infinite capacity for change and growth that is within each of us.

Empathy and Understanding
- Sharing another person's dreams - especially in the hopes of making a better future for themselves and the world around them is a great honor to be a part of. I seek to understand and care for each person who enters my life and give them hope and reassurance that their lives and careers can be full of beauty and joy.

Empowerment
- I hope to infuse a spark of hope into each client. Hope gives us the energy to make our futures a reality.

Q: What kind of experience do you have that will help you be a good coach?

A: All of my life experiences have contributed significantly to the coach I am today. More specifically, my experiences are as follows:

Career and Business - I have had over 17 years experience in offices, different business structures, and I have learned to evaluate each situation on an individual basis. I have had experience as a business owner, and learned through both positive and negative experiences how to operate successful housecleaning, professional organizing, and life coaching businesses.

Psychology - I have also dedicated a good part of my life to studying what motivates individuals and how to achieve success in our quests to be better at whatever area of our life we wish to improve. This includes, but is not limited to: parenting, interpersonal relationships, entrepreuneurship, career changes, education, and LIFE.

Parenthood - I have spent the last twenty years as a parent to two daughters, born eighteen years apart, as well as three stepchildren. I have also taught parenting classes, including parenting through divorce and single parenting for approximately seven years while living in San Jose, California.

Teaching - I have taught organizing classes as well as life coaching and parenting classes and I am in the midst of writing a book "Quit Your Job, Change Your Life."

Q: Tell me about your code of ethics and client confidentiality.

A:
I adhere to the International Coach Federation's (ICF) Code of Ethics which may be found here. ALL client information is kept confidential. In cases where I obtain permission to reproduce/tell a client's story , the client must give written authorization in advance and all names are changed to protect confidentiality.

Q: How much do you know about the mind? What kind of education do you have?

A: My studies have included works by William Glasser, Alfred Adler, Noam Chomsky, Rudolf Dreikurs, and Stephen Covey. I attended an ICF-accredited program at the International Coach Academy (ICA) and received my certification from their Certified Professional Coach Program (CPCP).

Q: How many sessions do you think I will need?

A: As with any of my clients, there is no "one size fits all", perfect number of sessions. For some, this may take two sessions, for others, ten. It takes as long as it takes for the two of us working together to facilitate change. That said, I've seen individuals who spent three or four sessions with me and taken off like rockets! It's up to the individual, and their unique talents and motivation.

Q: Do you charge on time, or results?

A: I charge on a per session basis and believe that the results, as noted in the previous question, are dependent on the individual and their willingness and motivation to make a change in their own life. I do offer packages for 3, 6, & 12 sessions that give my clients a cost savings.

Q: How much do you charge?

A:
My fees are available as packages (click here for details). However, my overriding goal is to help others enact change in their lives, so contact me to discuss alternate pricing which is based on need of the individual.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A:
I accept personal checks and money orders. I advise against sending cash via the postal service. If you wish to use a credit card, you may pay via Paypal. Please contact me for details on this particular option.

Q: What additional information can you provide on coaching?
